Title Recorder Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recording documents (i.e., checking them for accuracy and legibility, verifying vesting and legal descriptions, verifying lender-requested endorsements, interfacing with escrow officers, scanning to the County).
  • Running date downs (i.e., searching for newly recorded docs and determining if they affect the transaction before recording).
  • Typing title policies promptly (i.e., filling in newly recorded document information, adding necessary exceptions, completing appropriate endorsements, uploading copies to escrow file, and mailing).
  • Responding to lender and coworker requests via email and telephone promptly.
  • Making sure your office is kept clean and organized at all times, following CFPB requirements.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
  • Grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Ability to proofread materials for typographical errors, etc.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks, being able to recognize the urgency.
  • Read, understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
  • Communicate effectively and in an understandable manner.
  • Recognize and solve problems independently.
  • Ask for assistance when not able to proceed.
  • Realize one’s abilities and limitations.
  • Proficient in working on a computer.
  • Typing skills.
  • Be flexible and able to move from task to task.
